Test results for ARWEN and tRNAscan-SE
Note: Since this evaluation was made, the selectivity of ARWEN has slightly improved. Therefore, the results presented here will not perfectly correspond to that of the publication.
23 mitochondrial genomes from Metazoa were randomly chosen by using stratified selection to allow representatives from distant lineages with few members:

ARWEN was run with the option -gcmet (composite metazoan mitochondrial genetic code) with the exception of the two mammalian genomes (Semnopithecus entellys and Elephas maimus) where the options -gcmam (mammalian mitochondrial genetic code) and -mtmam (search for mammalian mitochondrial tRNA genes) were used. tRNAscan-SE (version 1.23) was run with the option -O (search for organellar tRNAs) and the appropriate genetic code. Note that some (false?) introns were reported when using tRNAscan-SE (see for example in the lower section of the Ancylostoma duodenale table.
